This is an index to a volume of estrays (stray livestock that were discovered by someone and reported) that was kept at the courthouse in Hendricks County, Indiana. The estray book detailed the livestock's particular markings, its appraised value, the date it was found, the name of the person who found it, and the date it was recorded.
This index contains the name of the person who found the livestock, the date it was recorded, and the page number in the book. The entries in this book are scattered, but the dates cover 1831 to 1839.
