The American Veteran: Atomic Bill
This is an Access Fort Wayne production, headquartered at the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, IN. The interview is from a program called "The American Veteran" which is produced and hosted by Dale Parish. His guest for this episode was Bill Hambrock, a Korean War veteran. In 1952, Hambrock was part of a military unit that was exposed to a nuclear detonation from a distance of 3.5 miles. After the blast, his unit was instructed to move to ground zero of the detonation.
